A school rooted in place and lived through everyday experience.
Diodoros Academy brings together learning, residential life and territory in one experience. Villa Ofelia is the heart of a temporary community that studies, works, meets and learns within the Valley of the Temples.
“We believe hospitality is learned by inhabiting places, listening to people and taking responsibility for what we welcome and interpret.”
Villa Ofelia is a home in which to live, study and share. The Valley landscape accompanies study, exchange and everyday life.01
Our philosophy
At Diodoros Academy, hospitality is at once a professional practice, a culture and a human relationship. Technique gains meaning when it is supported by curiosity, care and an understanding of the context in which people work.
Learn through experience
Share responsibility and everyday life
Understand a place before interpreting it
Turn hospitality into a genuine relationship
02
Villa Ofelia, a home to inhabit
Villa Ofelia retains the character of a 1950s Sicilian country house. Its rooms are simple and many spaces are shared: the table, garden, work rooms and common living areas all become part of the experience. Its value lies in the story of the house and the rare opportunity to live within the Valley of the Temples, away from the conventions of luxury hospitality.
03
A house where experiences can take shape
The villa can host lessons, workshops, residencies and conversations with teachers, producers, chefs and storytellers, alongside time for study, work and conviviality. Activities are designed for small groups so that presence, listening and exchange remain genuine.
04
A campus extending through the Valley
The campus continues beyond Villa Ofelia. Casa Diodoros, agricultural land, the Archaeological Museum, monumental heritage and local businesses form a living geography of learning. Archaeology, farming, cuisine and hospitality are not a backdrop here: they are the everyday setting in which knowledge and new possibilities take shape.
